A former FBI agent has pleaded guilty to stealing suspected drug money that prosecutors say he used to buy cars and pay for plastic surgery.

Scott Bowman took more than $136,000 while he was part of a California task force on gang-related crime in 2014, authorities said.

Prosecutors said Bowman went on a three-week spending spree – buying cars, paying for his wife’s plastic surgery and taking his girlfriend to Las Vegas.

The FBI fired Bowman last year.

The former agent admitted that he attempted to cover his tracks by falsifying agency records.

He also said he tried to get a police detective to lie to investigators for him.

Bowman’s arrest led authorities to drop charges against 14 people tied to a drug case he had investigated.
